I Eat the Right Food, Do Yoga and a Bit of Pilates: Freida Pinto

Freida's thought for food
I am: Non-vegetarian.

My favourite food: I love Italian cuisine. My palate is pleased by seafood risotto with porcini mushrooms. Besides that I love my Manglorean seafood dishes and the sukha chicken.

Diet Routine:

I begin my day with: A few glasses of water.

My breakfast is: A bowl of cheerios honey nut cereal, a glass of milk and fruits.

My lunch is: Light and simple. Sprouts, vegetables, chapattis with curd and dal sometimes.

My evening snack is: Oatmeal cookies or nachini chips. Health food items fascinate me.

My dinner is: Baked fish or roasted chicken and vegetables. I avoid rice and chapattis for dinner.

My fitness regime:

I don't like to gym. I find it boring. So I eat the right food, do yoga and a bit of pilates.

Favourites

In sweets I like: Rasmalai… yummy! I also love dark chocolate.

My favourite restaurants abroad: In Singapore, I dined at Song of India. It serves Indian food with wine. The recipes are tweaked a little to incorporate a slightly western touch yet it retains the Indian flavour. The presentation is top class. There is nothing like our desi food with an international twist. I also loved the food I ate in these little restaurants by the sea in Phuket! They served the best seafood salad I've ever tasted!

I visited Afghanistan a few years back and had: An iftar feast! It's rich food but it's delectable to the core and a meat lover's paradise.

I am very much from Mumbai and I love: Mahesh Lunch Home, Apoorva, Basilico, White, Mezzo Mezzo and almost every restaurant at the Sheraton.

I can cook: Really good spaghetti Arrabiata, though I am not much of a cook.

My favourite cooks in my family: My mother and my grandmom. I love my naani's fish curry and mom is an expert at roast chicken and fish preparations.

My best dining friends are: My sister and my boyfriend. They both love experimenting with food. My sister tries dishes that may sound repulsive. Fortunately, she has a knack to pick out the best.

My idea of a romantic meal: By the sea or on a hill or mountain with Jack Johnson playing in the background! Wow!

My Sunday lunch is: Either some yummy sea food or a chicken dish. I have my roots in South India so instead of the regular rice and rotis, my mother makes rice pancakes and other rice preparations.

One thing I can't resist buying in foodstuff is: Health food items. I don't know if I enjoy eating it but I am plain fascinated with the concept!

I feel guilty after eating: Foodstuff with MSG and hydrogenated fats. Bakery products give me the strongest guilt pang.

My childhood memory of food is: Eating a special Manglorean jackfruit vegetable with rice in my dad's quaint little house in Mangalore. My dad's mum and sister-in-law would prepare the best traditional vegetable dishes Also, I remember gorging on my aunt's onion and aloo parathas in her Noida home.

I think I resemble: Strawberries! They are sensual, sweet, tangy and desirable!

My fridge always has: Sprouts and milk. But because my sister is a cheese lover we also stock cheese for her.

I always carry with me: Fruits, oatmeal cookies and granola bars.

My comfort food: Seafood. Give me dal, rice and stuffed mackerel and I will forget all my woes!

I am averse to: Custard apples.

My favourite spice: Bay leaf, black pepper corns and cardamom.

My favourite beverage: Fresh fruit juices.

My favourite kitchen appliance: None! They scare me.

My favourite foods are: Butter garlic calamari, shrimps, baked salmon, stuffed pomfrets, mackerels, mussels and shellfish. Apart from sea food, one dish I absolutely love is the nawabi galouti kebabs.

Sensual, sweet, tangy and desirable - That's how Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto describes strawberries — the fruit she most resembles

My director Danny Boyle's favourite food: Strange I never asked him that. But I can tell you my co-star Dev Patel's favourite food is the crabs at Mahesh Lunch Home! He misses it big time in London.

On the sets of Slumdog Millionaire: Tian were the official caterers. We had a wide variety of Italian, Chinese, Thai and Indian cuisine. Sometimes I opted for simple dal rice and sabzis.

Anil Kapoor ate: I have no idea. I ate with my co-star and make up artists from Fat Mu! They were a lot of fun.

Freida's favourite recipe:

Roast chicken and red chilly

Ingredients
1/2 kg broiler chicken (cut into medium sized pieces)
1 tbsp oil
3 to 4 Kashmiri chillies
Few peppercorns
1 small piece cinnamon
Few strands of saffron
1/2 tsp cumin seed powder
2 to 3 tomatoes (finely chopped)
Salt to taste

Method
Clean and wash the chicken pieces.
Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add the chilies, peppercorns and cinnamon.
When the spices become hot, add the chicken pieces along with saffron and cumin seed powder. Add salt and mix well. Add tomatoes and mix well. Cook on a low flame till it becomes tender and dry. Serve hot.

UGA cheerleader Anna Watson has become an overnight sensation. Not because of her back flips or her cascading brunette locks but because of her ripped muscles.

Anna Watson is not your average girl. She can bench press 155 pounds, she eats 900-calorie mass-gainer shakes and she has four inches of muscle on her biceps. Watson's muscles raised eyebrows after a photo of her flexing began circulating on the Internet.

Some were shocked when they first saw the photo of the ripped college junior. She has been dubbed as "college football's strongest female cheerleader" by some. While other bloggers commented on the stark contrast Watson poses to other cheerleaders.

"Usually when we write about cheerleaders (like here, here, and here), it's for one reason and one reason only: Because they're hot. Not the case here," wrote Complex blogger Chris Yuscavage. "Sure, Anna Watson has a pretty face and probably cleans up pretty nicely. But we're interested in her because she could also probably power clean, bench press, squat, and dead lift us if she wanted to."

Twitter reactions to the UGA cheerleader have been mixed. Here are some of the responses the photo of Anna Watson flexing her muscles got on the social network:

  • "This is a real pic. This girl is not on steroids."
  • "THIS IS A DUDE! IT HAS TO BE!"
  • "Talk abt scary"
  • "Georgia's Anna Watson The strongest FEMALE cheerleader! DAAAANNNGG GGIIIRRRLL!"
  • "ummmmm.....NOT hot!!!!"
  • "One last time - Even SEC cheerleaders could beat your football team"
  • "This woman puts me to shame.Go girl."
  • "Tim Tebow's future wife... he just doesn't know it yet."
  • "This girl is strong in more ways than one."
  • "This is one girl who doesn't need a dad to protect her!!"
  • "That's an atrocity against femininity."
  • "It's clear where her treasure is. Love this!"
  • "Meet the Mike Mamula of cheerleader,UGA cheerleading workout warrior Anna Watson."
  • "UGA cheerleader Anna Watson not defined by physique"
  • Anna Watson........that cheerleading is DIESELGEEZ o.O...........*does some pushups*
  • Hey guys, do an google image search for "anna watson georgia" and prepare to feel inadequate"

Despite her physical appearance, Watson insists that her life is not exercise. She even turned down a $75,000 fitness-modeling contract. Though she had been bulking up to meet the requirements for the modeling career, Watson realized that the extreme regime was too much.

The modeling agency wanted her to continue pushing harder, even though she had put on four inches of muscle onto her arms in just 10 months. She also had to take the legal anabolic steroid, Anavar.

"I don't serve a modeling agent. I serve the Lord," Watson said. "I'm not going to compromise my morals and my beliefs just to take pictures. I believe that my body is a temple and a beautiful creation, so I don't want to put anything into it that can harm it."

Watson turned to her Christian faith to find balance.

"When working out became a greater passion to me than serving the Lord and serving people around me and loving other people, then I realized that was a big no-no," Watson said. "I was frustrated. I was cranky. I didn't want to go to the gym, but I felt like I had to. I was stuck in this regiment and it was almost oppressive and it was like I was trapped. So being able to realize that working out is not my purpose in life really was able to set me free."

After college, Anna Watson wants to use her skills to help others by becoming a personal trainer.

"I want to show people that working out can be freeing," Watson said. "It can be enjoyable. It doesn't have to be something that you have to do all the time. It doesn't have to be oppressive and I think a lot of people just need to be freed from that image or that idea, 'If I can lift five pounds more, if I can lose five pounds more, then I'm going to be better,' because it's a never-ending cycle."

'Bigorexic' bodybuilder mum won't stop until she weighs 20 stone - mirror.co.uk mum-of-two has become so obsessed with bodybuilding she insists she won’t stop until she reaches 20 stone.

Rene Campbell has spent the last four years transforming herself from a petite 8.5 stone size 8 to a hulking 13.5 stone of pure muscle.

The 35-year-old works out for two hours a day, five times a week and eats a whopping 4,200 calories a day with meals of chicken, rice and vegetables as well as protein powders and vitamins.

The divorcee, from Brighton, is already the UK Bodybuilding physique female champion but has vowed to get even bigger.

Self confessed “bigorexic” Rene said: “I won't stop until I'm bigger and better - I'm totally obsessive about it.

"I look at guys in the gym who are 20 stone and think I want to be that big. I'm jealous of their size, and wish I could be as big as them.

"I love the muscular aesthetic, looking like a Greek God. It's a form of art when you think about it."

Rene admits her muscly body attracts mixed reactions from people in the street

Rene, who has size 18 shoulders and size 12 waist, admits her muscly physique attracts mixed reactions from people in the street.

She said: "I have had comments from guys saying that it's disgusting. Others say 'why would you want to subject your body to that?'

"But some people admire and respect what I do.”

Rene, who is mum to Matthew, 18, and 10-year-old Kai, says her family worry about her obsession with bodybuilding, which she admits was the reason for her marriage split.

She added: “"My parents are very supportive but I don't think my mum understands it.

"She would like me to do something a little less obsessive - but I think you've got to be obsessive to get to the top of your game.

"I've had a partner who told me in the past that they couldn't handle the bodybuilding any more.

"They gave me an ultimatum - it was the bodybuilding or them. But you've got to do what you've got to do.”

As a keen sportswoman when she was younger, Rene decided to take up bodybuilding as a new challenge four years ago.

Since then she has taken part in eight competitions and recently came first in the UKBFF British Finals.

She said: "I just got into the idea of getting bigger and moving it up a notch. I like the challenge and the discipline of training.

"Winning the title in October was a dream come true. When I won the British final my mum said that's enough, just walk away from it now - but I don't intend to.”
